Can I get a samples kit?

Yes. Our acoustic samples kit includes PET panel colours, printed textures and a working example of our ReadyClip glue-free mounting system. It’s the quickest way to evaluate material quality and acoustic performance before specification.

Who do I talk to for design assistance?

Our in-house design team offers direct support for detailing, acoustic strategy and documentation. No middle layers.

Do you offer project-specific acoustic modelling?

Yes. We provide basic, theoretical acoustic modelling to estimate reverberation times and suggest appropriate coverage for offices, classrooms, meeting rooms and specialist spaces. This gives designers early confidence in material performance and helps shape a realistic acoustic strategy before engaging consultants.For projects requiring formal verification or complex performance targets, we recommend working with a qualified acoustic engineer, and we’re happy to collaborate and supply all required product data.

We provide clear budget rates for acoustic wall panels, ceiling systems and baffles so QSs can price concepts early. Our Acoustic systems typically match or beat adhered acoustic solutions once you factor in reduced labour and no substrate remediation.

Both. We offer certified install partners in major centres and supply-only nationwide with our partners Comfortech Building Systems

What are your lead times?

Yes. All dbsorb solutions are manufactured in Auckland from local and imported materials, ensuring reliable lead times, low embodied carbon and rapid prototyping.

What recycled content do your panels use?

Our PET acoustic panels contain 60 percent plus recycled content from post-consumer and post-industrial sources. This gives you a low-carbon acoustic solution backed by transparent material data.

Do you have environmental documentation?

Yes. We provide environmental, VOC data and Green Star / NABERS supporting documents outlining embodied carbon, recycled content and product lifecycle.

Are your systems glue-free and removable?

Yes. Our ReadyClip system delivers a fully removable, glue-free install that supports circular construction, low-waste de-fit and future reuse.

Can I reuse the panels at end-of-life?

Yes. Panels are removable, reconfigurable and recyclable. This aligns with circularity requirements now common in commercial fit-out briefs.

Does your system meet the latest NZ/AU requirements?

Yes. Our acoustic panels and mounting systems are tested to NZ and Australian codes with local fire assessments and compliance documentation.

What’s the NRC and acoustic performance of your panels?

Our PET acoustic panels typically achieve NRC 0.85 or higher depending on thickness and installation. We provide full lab reports, frequency curves and documentation for MOE DQLS, office acoustics and commercial fit-out standards.

How do I know which product is right for my room type?

Can you help me detail this in Revit / CAD?

Yes. We provide lightweight Revit families, DWGs, CAD blocks and detail sheets for our acoustic panels, ceiling tiles, baffles and ReadyClip systems. They’re designed not to bloat your model or upset your BIM manager.

Do you offer custom shapes, perforations or printed finishes?

Absolutely. Custom perforations, curved panels, branded graphics and sculptural forms are part of our day-to-day work. Local manufacturing makes iteration fast and practical.

Perched on the cliffs of Muriwai, The Jewel Box at Parihoa is a striking glass pavilion designed for intimate events, wellness retreats, and creative workshops. With panoramic sea views and retractable glass walls, the space offers an immersive connection to its natural surroundings. But while glass and concrete create stunning architecture, they also bring one of the biggest challenges in design: echo. When sound reflects off hard surfaces, conversations blur, speech becomes tiring, and calm disappears. The question was simple: how do you make a glass box not echoey? The Challenge The beauty of minimalism can often work against good acoustics. With floor-to-ceiling glass, polished concrete, and open volumes, The Jewel Box had nowhere for sound to be absorbed. The key challenges were: Excessive reverberation from reflective glass and concrete. Poor speech clarity during group sessions and events. Maintaining the minimalist aesthetic without visual clutter. Integrating seamlessly with lighting and retractable wall systems. The design team needed a solution that controlled sound without compromising architecture. Installed between existing light tracks, the battens transformed unused ceiling space into an elegant acoustic treatment that blended with the building’s structure.
