Frequently asked questions about Groove

dbGroove™ is a decorative acoustic wall panel machined from 100 % polyester fibre (minimum 60 % recycled PET content). Available in both 12 mm and 24 mm thicknesses, it combines visual rhythm with high acoustic performance — ideal for walls, ceilings, and feature linings where texture and sound absorption are equally important.

Acoustic performance depends on the groove pattern and installation method. When installed using Ready-Clip™ or on battens to create an air cavity, dbGroove™ can achieve NRC values similar to flat Decosorb™ panels (typically 0.45 – 0.85). Direct-fix installations provide moderate absorption with the option to increase performance by adding a backing layer or cavity.

The preferred method is with the Ready-Clip™ system, enabling glue-free, demountable installation. Alternatively, panels can be supplied pre-mounted to factory-supplied battens for rapid on-site fixing. Both approaches ensure clean lines, precision alignment, and allow for easy removal or reuse.

dbGroove™ is offered in a curated range of standard profiles and spacings, with the option to fully customise to suit your design intent. Patterns can vary in depth, spacing, and geometry (e.g. V-groove angle etc.) to achieve the desired balance of visual character and acoustic performance.
